Where is God?
17 Mar 2002
The local priest was looking for some of the older children to help him out at Sunday school. He spotted Matthew sauntering down the road and asked him if he could have a quick word.
Wondering what was going on, Matthew followed the priest into church and sat down in one of the pews.
The priest was eager to know how much Matthew knew about church so the first question he asked was. "Where is God?"
Matthew stared at him in astonishment, but didn't say a word.
"Come on Matthew," he said again, more forcibly, "Where is God?"
Terrified, Matthew jumped up, ran out of church and raced home, locking himself in the bedroom.
"Hey Matt," called his elder brother. "What's all the rush? Are you alright?"
"No I'm not," sobbed Matthew. "I'm in real trouble this time. God's gone missing and the priest thinks I did it."
